Introduction
My goal was to create a lagbar that is
customizable in many ways so anyone could change it
according to their needs or personal desires.
For example, colors can be changed so they would match the theme you are
using.
How to load
- press ALT + R in mIRC
- click on "Remote" tab
- press CTRL + L
- select the file lagbar.mrc
- click "Yes" if a warning pops
up.
Multi-network
The lagbar is multi-network, meaning it will
show the lag of the active network.
However, you can set it to view the lag of one specific network whether
it is active or not.
You can also turn it off for every network separately.
How it works
The script sends a raw command to the server. However, the command sent
to the server is not valid,
so the server replies with error-code 421 meaning
“Unknown command”.
Time between sending the raw command and the 421 reply, equals the lag
you are suffering.
Settings
I’m not going to explain how to change colors or layout,
I think you can figure out yourself.
Though, comment on some settings might be helpful.
Update frequency:
This means nothing more than the frequency the
raw command will be send to the server.
Rebuild interval:
When lag is calculated, it will be visualized
by the bar. However, it takes some time to build it.
Faster systems should be able to use 0ms
without mIRC to start freezing.
Slower systems however should increase the
interval.
